NAPIT Registration is authorised by the Department of Communities and Local Government (DCLG) and the Welsh Government to operate Competent Person Schemes, along with a Third Party Certification scheme (England only). This means that NAPIT complies with strict Conditions of Authorisation and maintains certain obligations to its members.
Competent Person Schemes (CPS) are designed to allow installers to self-certify that their work complies with the Building Regulations In England and Wales. On completion of any notifiable work, the installer will only need to notify their CPS provider – in this case NAPIT Registration – who will then notify Building Control, reducing the burden on both installers and their customers.
The NAPIT brand provides a mark of professionalism for domestic, commercial and industrial installers and allows consumers to make an informed decision when in need of a tradesperson.
